Sharmaine is an Occupational Therapist and Mental Health Clinician with over 13 years of experience across New Zealand and Australia. She specialises in complex psychosocial disability, perinatal and infant mental health, youth mental health, and complex risk assessment, and has a growing interest in paediatric practice.
Sharmaine has completed extensive professional training in mental health, trauma-informed practice, sensory and cognitive assessment. Her qualifications and training include ASIST, CPI and MAPA, Sensory Profile and sensory modulation, Allen’s Cognitive Level Assessment, MoCA, COGNISTAT, ACE‑R, and dyad attachment‑based approaches.
Sharmaine is committed to trauma‑informed, person‑centred, and goal‑oriented practice. She works collaboratively with individuals, families, and support networks to help participants build capacity, improve independence, and achieve meaningful outcomes in their everyday lives.
