Julia is a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Crystel Care who is passionate about helping individuals build skills, confidence, and emotional regulation in ways that are meaningful and sustainable. She works with children, young people, and adults with disability, supporting them and their support networks to better understand behaviour and develop practical strategies that improve everyday life.
Julia’s work is grounded in trauma-informed practice, Positive Behaviour Support, and an understanding of nervous system regulation. She believes that behaviour always has meaning and focuses on identifying the underlying needs behind behaviours so that supports can be compassionate, effective, and respectful.
She is particularly skilled at translating complex behavioural presentations into clear, practical strategies that families, carers, and support teams can confidently implement in real-life environments. Julia works closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to move away from reactive responses and toward collaborative approaches that build long-term skills and capacity.
Julia is known for supporting individuals who may have previously been considered “too complex” and for helping teams feel calmer, more confident, and better equipped to provide consistent support.
At the centre of Julia’s practice is a strong belief that people thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported. Her goal is to ensure behaviour support strategies enhance quality of life, strengthen relationships, and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
